The Delaware Automobile Insurance Plan (DAIP) was created by statute to provide insurance coverage for those people who can not obtain insurance through the voluntary market. In this capacity, the DAIP ensures that these applicants are shared equitably among all insurers licensed to write auto insurance in the state of Delaware.

Any insurance agent holding a valid Property & Casualty license for the state of Delaware is eligible to write business through the Plan.

Consumers possessing a valid Delaware driver's license and a vehicle registered in Delaware are eligible to be assigned through the DAIP. For further information, consumers should consult their agent or broker.

AIPSO's Office Schedule - December 12, 2024

AIPSO's CAARP/Western Region office, servicing the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan, California Low Cost Auto Insurance Program, and the auto plans of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming will be closed on Thursday, December 12 for a company event. As a result, some services may be delayed or unavailable. All other AIPSO offices, including the Johnston RI home office, remain open.

All AIPSO offices will resume regular business hours on Friday, December 13.
